Amy Costello Photography is based out of Southern New Jersey and serves the surrounding areas such as Burlington County, Camden County, Gloucester County, Ocean County, Cape May County, Philadelphia County and Bucks County.

I've always loved to create art.  Whether it be photography, drawing, painting, and even writing, I have always loved every aspect of it.  Photography has been a passion of mine ever since I was a young teenager.  I used to borrow my mom's camera to take 35-mm film photos and then get them developed at my local pharmacy.  The excitement I had while I waited for my photos to be developed was palpable.  I also grew up with my Mom always taking pictures and videos of my sisters and I.  Photography was not just a hobby in my household, it was a way to preserve timeless moments.

If you ask me to remember when was the exact moment that I fell in love with photography, the answer would have to be when I was a teenager.  In the early 2000's, my digital camera was a staple in my purse and it was brought with me everywhere.  Taking selfies and pictures of my friends was my favorite past-time.  My first digital camera will always be remembered.  It was a Kodak Easy Share with 3 megapixels!!  If you know anything about photography, 3 megapixels is a super low, low quality.  But it got the job done!  I had a collection of digital cameras throughout my teenage years and I truly wish that I kept them regardless of if they were in working condition or not.  My favorite camera was my digital Sony Cybershot with 15 megapixels, in pink of course!  Now, I did keep that camera  I also loved buying disposable cameras to take pictures.  As I grew older, I steered away from photography and creating art took a backseat in my life.  Life ran its course but photography was always in the back of my mind.

Fast forward to the end of 2023, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion and step back into photography.  I was influenced by my photography loving boyfriend, Andy, and he really helped me fall back in love with this art form.  When I got behind the camera after all of these years, it was like I was greeting an old friend again.  I welcomed the camera back with open arms of love, admiration and pure excitement.  After all, I was so used to taking photos with only my cellphone camera for the past decade so it was a little strange to learn about this new, different type of camera.  I ended up investing in a Sony Alpha (7iii) camera.  It's truly a beautiful piece of equipment.

In December of 2023, a light bulb went off in my head and I had a great yet crazy idea.  I decided that I wanted to go back to college for photography, become an entrepreneur and ultimately start my own photography business.

And so, the seed was planted and Amy Costello Photography was born.
